Exports constitute a significant part of UWC Samos business activities and cover 80% of the approximately 7,000 tons of wine the union produces annually. France alone imports 60% of the wine produced on the island of Samos, while other countries also import large quantities of Samos wines are European countries, Australia, USA, Canada and Asian markets. Through practices that are considered unique by Greek standards, the Union of Viticultural Cooperatives of Samos ensures the fairness of revenues rendered to its grape growers and promotes the island of Samos the world over. All of the Union’s efforts begin with the wine grape only to come back full circle to the wine growers that lovingly cultivate it. UWC Samos aims at making its name synonymous to products and services that are stamped by excellence and quality consistency. Its basic goal is to strengthen its position by making its products more and more recognizable and increasing its share in the global market, as well as by steadily claiming a larger share. We highly recommend both fine dry Muscat wines and world-renowned dessert wines –aged or not- by UWC Samos, one of the greatest representatives of Greek wine.
