It all started in the early 1950s in the old city of Patras when Panagiotis Marlafekas founded “Loux”, a small family business initially producing orange drink, lemonade and soda water.
Year after year Loux continued to steadily rise. In the early 1970’s demand rapidly grew, while the arrival of multinational companies in Greece in 1967, made it imperative to relocate the business to another space. The goal was that the new unit had greater capacity, and advanced technologies, in response to the growing competition. It was in 1972, when Panagiotis Marlafekas decided to move the plant to privately owned, larger and more modernized facilities in Kefalovrisso, with its natural springs offering pure, light water, rich in minerals.
Under three brands – Loux, Loux Mix and Loux Cola, they produce a full range of refreshments, all with water from Kefalovrissos. Orangeade, Lemonade, Sour Cherry, Loux Mix (a mixture of three citrus fruits Orange – Lemon – Mandarin), Soda, Traditional Gazoza (carbonated drink), Loux Cola and Tonic. All LOUX refreshments are available in a wide range of packaging, thus covering all market needs: 250 ml glass and PET packaging of 330, 500 and 1500 ml. With the key ingredient of excellent quality water from Kefalovrissos, adding natural fruit juices and the ideal balance of carbonate, Loux soft drinks are at the top in preference for Greek consumers and will captivate those who try them.
