The Karalis Dairy Industry was initially founded in Preveza in 1965, where in 1982 it started exporting to the USA, Canada and Australia. In 1998 it was transferred to Arta, in a modern plant in 500 hectares, with a daily capability of processing 80 tons of milk. The excellent product quality is maintained due to strict inspection of the milk’s quality and all procedures. Their traditional production methods have been adjusted for today’s technological progress and know-how of the modern dairy industry.
Its flagship product is Feta Barel P.D.O., the most famous traditional Greek cheese. It is a typical element of the Greek diet and is linked to its history and traditions. It is made from a mixture of sheep and goat’s milk, and has a light salty-sour flavor and a natural white color. It can be characterized as a “biological product” because it is made from the milk of free grazing animals. The product range also includes Feta Tank P.D.O., Kefalograviera, Gruyere, Kefalotiri, Goat cheese, Pekorino, Anthotiro, Butter, Yogurt and Galoturi.
